1. Overview

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of theonsite.dev (“the Service”), operated by The Onsite (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

theonsite.dev is an interactive platform for practicing system design interviews. The Service includes an interactive whiteboard canvas, timed sessions, session recording and playback, and expert answer keys.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and create a password to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4. Free and Paid Plans

The Service offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Free accounts include access to select beginner challenges. Paid plans unlock additional challenges, features, and content.

Pricing is displayed on our pricing page and may change with reasonable notice. Promotional pricing (such as founding member rates) is honored for the duration stated at the time of purchase.

5. Billing and Cancellation

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at hello@theonsite.dev.

6. Your Content

Any diagrams, drawings, or session data you create on the Service remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

7. Our Content

All challenge descriptions, expert answer keys, and instructional content on the Service are owned by The Onsite and protected by copyright. You may not copy, redistribute, or publicly share this content without our written permission.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
• Redistribute or resell access to the Service or its content

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and we may delete your data after a reasonable retention period.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements. Using the Service does not guarantee any particular interview outcome.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Onsite shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
